Death By 1000 Cats

One of my favorite recent Supervillains.

New Theme For Monster By Mail! SUPERVILLIANS!

Ah yes, It's been two years since I first decided to open Monster By Mail and start selling my artwork. And it's also been a while since I've done a full-fledged theme. But all that will change when I start "The Summer Of the SuperVillain!" That's right. Simply name your Supervillain and I'll draw them. It's as easy as that. I'm looking forward to what kind of Villains will come out of this project. And please be creative with your names. It's your creativity that helps drive the art. So go ahead and start ordering your own Supervillain today!

My Appearance on 190 North

It's been posted! It's short, but hey, it's still TV. Turns out I didn't need to be so worried about my wardrobe after all. Check it out.

Halloween At Monster By Mail -Laser Etched Coffins!

First off, thanks to everyone who has voted for the choice of print for Monster By Mail. The winner will be decided Friday and be turned into a high-quality 12 x 18 canvas print, suitable for framing. Stay tuned for more info on that soon. But in the meantime...

In honor of the Halloween season, I am offering a very limited edition piece of art. Here's what it is: A miniature pine coffin (Dimensions are 9" x 4 1/2" x 2 1/4") with an original piece of custom-designed digital art precisely laser-etched onto the lid. On the back of the coffin, the Monster By Mail Logo is laser-etched. Each coffin is numbered and hand signed by me. The buyer may suggest the theme of the art, but I still retain the right to do my own interpretation for the lid. If you end up purchasing the piece, I'll work with you to make it as custom-designed as possible, so no worries. I won't be able to do portraits from photos, however.

This is a very limited edition piece. Only four will be created. Two are being offered at Etsy and two are being offered for auction at Ebay.

I have no idea how quickly, the ones at Etsy will sell, and really have no idea what the demand will be at Ebay. So if you're interested, I suggest you act fast, because I'm only doing 4 of these coffins. Thanks in advance and Happy Halloween!

Help Me Choose The Monster By Mail Halloween Print

Hey internet, I need your help. I have created two new original images for the upcoming Halloween season at Monster By Mail. But the problem is, I can't decide which one to use. That's where you come in. Can you please vote and help me decide which one will be offered or sale as a limited edition high quality 12 x 18 canvas print. You can vote here. Thanks for your help in advance. Voting will close on Friday.

Also, another very exciting Monster By Mail Halloween exclusive is coming very soon. Stay tuned for details.

EDIT: Thanks to the 200 who voted this week. The Zombie Trick or Treat is now available for sale at Etsy.com!

Repurposing The Monsters

I've been meaning to blog about this for a while, and now seems like a perfect time. I've recently seen some repurposing of my Monster By Mail artwork, which is pretty dang cool. The best example comes from Kraken Mosaics, who used my version of a zombie Venus De Milo as the inspiration for her recent mosaic mermaid.

Not to be outdone, YouTube user Slayer66x apparently got a tattoo of the art I created for Jonathan Coulton's song "Octopus". I haven't seen the actual tattoo, though photos may be forthcoming. Perhaps it didn't turn out as well as they expected. In any event, neato!

Monster By Mail Update!

Just want to let everyone know that Monster By Mail is still happening and you can order a monster (with or without video) from me today! Here is today's latest entry: The Marriage of Queen Kamayhemayhem and Her King

Holy Crap! Lookit The Size of Those Monsters!

This is the coolest thing I've seen all day. Paul in NM has been ordering monsters from me since the start and he's been taking them and enlarging them to hang on his walls. Well, check out the size of these guys! (Click on the pic to see it at super mondo size) Keep in mind the originals are around 4 x 6. So it's really cool to see them hold up well in large mode.

Also, if you've ordered a monster and have it displayed somewhere cool, please feel free to add it to the Flickr Group I created. Thanks all!

Monster 1000!

I just got my 1000th MBM order just a few minutes ago. It comes a few days after the site went live over a year ago. I want to thank everyone who has ordered a monster this past year and yes, I will be continuing with new themes and drawings. Thanks for all your support. If you would have told me a year ago, I would be drawing 1000 monsters and make money selling my art, I wouldn't have believed you. Just goes to show you, you never know what's around the corner.

Thanks again to everyone who has helped out the past year to make this art project a success. More is coming soon!

ON EDIT: Here is the video of the 1000th order! Woot!

Richard, The Zombie Podcast Listener

Ordered by Richard for Monster By Mail. BTW, we're still looking for sketches of Richard. Head on over here and contribute. Or leave us a voicemail and either Nora, Neil or I will draw your description.

Zombie Killer

The Zombie Killing must continue. Good thing I'm not running for Zombie president. I would never be elected. Thanks to Kim for this!

March of the Monsters

We mentioned this on the show last night, but in case you are ignoring the show, I'll mention it here as well.

March 30th marks the 1 year anniversary of Monster By Mail. And I'd really like to hit the 1000 milestone by the 30th. As I mentioned on the show, I am just a mere 31 orders away from meeting that goal. And with this being the 29th of February...guess what? There are 31 days to March 30th! How convenient! So in order to TRY to make the goal of 1000 monsters before the end of March, I'm encouraging everyone to do their part and order at least one monster from me. Remember, the 1000th monster gets a free 9 x 12 upgrade and a fun MBM monster pack to go along with their order. So go ahead, get on over to Monster By Mail and do your part for the "March of the Monsters!"
